East Midlands meet NEW location !
East Midlands meet NEW location !
Hi guys
As most of you know we have been talking about moving the East Midlands meet to a better venue as the Priory has gone through multiple landlords and the pub and food has gone down hill etc.
Therefore we will be moving to the 'The Gate hangs well'
http://www.thegatehangswellsyston.co.uk/
The Gate Hangs Well, Lewin Bridge, Syston, Leicester, LE7 1NH
This is a Pub run by Neil who some of you may remember from the Swan (which he used to run) or from meets back when we were at Mallory. He is a car nut and has his own collection of interesting motors.
He caters for a number of Club meets including the RS owners club, 4x4, TVR.
I went today with Tony and can highly recommend the food.
It's located near the river on the old Fosse way.
Given this is a bit short notice I plan to go to the old venue tomorrow night first thing and then drive to the new venue to ensure we don't lose anyone in the move.
So you can either meet us at the Priory and drive over or meet us at TGHW (I'm not writing that over and again)
With the new venue I hope we can get the numbers back up on where we were a couple of years ago.
Be great to see you
Cheers

Looks very nice Neil,Do they do accommodation or failing that is there anywhere within a short distance that does(walk/taxi)
I only ask because if i get too close to a pub and have the car with me i wouldn't be fit to drive until the day after, especially after seeing on their website they sell cask ale

Great to see everyone
Good to see Dave and his new motor at the Priory and drive over with Tony and Pet to the TGHW.
Nice to see Andrew, Peter, Andy + Kat
Hopefully we can up the numbers next month
Missed James thought the opportunity for a convoy would be too hard for him to resist !
Thanks for keeping me company on the return trip Peter !

I didn't know the location has changed as I didn't check the forum daily. I was in on the old location about 8.30pm after a trip to Cambridge. I'll be there next month.
Missed you lot. But I met Cath. in the other pub while I had my dinner around 9pm and her car is down at the moment.
I did a few laps in Nurburgring a few weeks ago and timed them. They are 9. 48, 9.28 and 9.18. The last 2 timed lap was with yellow flag down and the time recorded was from the bridge to bridge. Couldn't resit the temptation to time it. Now it costed 95 euro for 4 laps but good fun. Spotted a B3 GT3 with standard factory colour was testing there while waiting for public entry.

Hi Neil
Could yo let me know the date/s of the next meets, as I intend to have a run down. Apparently would take me about 1hr 30, but am sure will aim to shorten that!.
Regards
Paul

I never believe the time that the route planner suggests, its like me own personal race. I knwo that Syston is near Melton Mowbray, which I am sure I got there in just over the hour!
