Adrian Flux - useless
Did a quote through Adrian flux, was with admiral before, had accepted the policy but 20 minutes later had a call from admiral who completed beat Adrian flux hands down on price by 200.
So called Adrian flux to cancel the payment/policy and was told that it would cost £65 to cancel....... and that it was in the terms and conditions.
1. I hadn't received this on email till the following day
2. After a debate I got it reduced to £25.
a policy that hasn't even started cost me £25 from £65 to cancel, They state it was read out to me the costs (but I don't recall this) but if I want a copy of the call would cost £15.... yet again more expense.
Apologies for the rant and rave but just want to warn others, the staff were friendly and polite just it seems a money making scheme for a policy that hasn't even started and was only paid for 20 minutes prior

I cancelled a policy after two days (not sure who with) and there was no cancellation charge.
Also there should be no charge for a transcript of your phone call. I did that once and on receipt of the transcript I discovered they were in the wrong. I got an apology and £25 knocked off my premium
By law there is a 14 day cooling off period, where you are able to cancel your policy and get a full refund after paying an admin fee. You will probably also be charged for the days the car was on cover. However, your policy had not actually started, so I don't think an admin fee should be applicable in your case. Especially as you said they did not make that point clear during your call.
If I were you I would make a phone call here........

unfortunately they couldnt help me either. reason is that I work abroad, and only come back once per month for a few days. Due to this they were not able to give me a competitive quote.
I guess it is something like home insurance where you cant leave the house unattended for more than 28-30 days at a time. But considering the car is staying in a locked garage, with a car parked outside it, and I will be doing less than 5000 miles per year, thus reducing the risk I was slightly taken aback. Never mind, the search continues for an insurer.

Im with Flux and have a 5000 mile per year limit.
I knew I would be close to the mark by the time I returned from France with the car so I called them to add 1000 miles on. I was quoted £44
I then asked how much of that was Admin fee as I may want 2000 suspecting that £25 of it was the admin fee. "For 2000. Sir it will be £44, still she said !
Why didnt she say that to start with ?
So... I thought sbout it for a few weeks, then rang back to take it. I was charged £41. !!!
Now I reckon the £44 wasa pro-rata amount based on a 7000 mile per year policy and as I only have 11 weeks to run before renewal, rather than the 13 weeks I had when first quoted, the amount was different.
Therefore, had I delayed the call until just before renewal and added 2000 miles, i suspect that the additional premium would only have been about £10
Food for thought nexxt year !!!

By law, you have a cooling off period with most service purchases including Insurance. The 14 day cooling off period stats when either the insurance cover starts or you receive the insurance documents - which ever is the later.
You can cancel without any charge before you receive either the policy documents or the insurance starts (again which ever is the latter).
If your cancelling after you've received the policy documents and the insurance has started, the insurer is entitled to deduct an amount to cover the insurance provided - it is eminently reasonable for the insurer to make a charge to cover the days insured in this instance but it should be relative to the total premium (eg pro-rata)
If in doubt, the Consumer Contract law is your friend in this instance.

Adrian Flux useless
Just a quick question, is the Autolink voucher when you take out insurance with Adrian Flux still being given?
