The new chrome ALPINA badge is still available, and the letters stand 23mm high. I don't know if it's exactly the same as an E39 badge, although I have had an offer from someone else looking to replace their existing E39 badge, so I assume it's same or similar.
Part number is 91.47.5.100.246
