... a Mini Cooper Clubman

Post by Scorchio » Thu Mar 04, 2010 8:33 am

Just for today, as I'm getting new brake disks installed on the B3.

Not too bad to drive. Nothing happens under 4000rpm. It does 90mph in 3rd :)
I'm amazed by the fuel consumption: 6.1l/100km (46mpg) during this morning's commute, whereas the Alpina does 9.8 (29).

The kids liked the suicide door on the passenger side. My four-year-old liked the Mini so much, she said I should keep it and get rid of the Alpina. I think not.

Rear visibility is cr*p, due to the small, split rear window.

Bit of a problem with the door in the UK as your kids have to get out into the road

With the door, I am surprised that DOT allowed the car to be sold in the UK. It is like saying that it is acceptable to have the passenger’s doors on a bus on the offside.
Oscar Wilde & Burkard Bovensiepen: I have the simplest tastes. I am always satisfied with the best.

I would have thought that the UK got the mirror image of the Euro car?
No?
Very stupid, indeed.
