Re: Question for B10 3.2 people
Number 168 is up for sale on Facebook (thanks to my wife for letting me use her access to have a look on Marketplace ) for £11995. The last time it was spotted was towards the end of 2017 when it was for sale at Paul James car sales. It looks in very good condition and has only covered an additional 2000 miles or so and is now showing 73k miles.

#168 has now been advertised with Silverwood. Very interested to see if this find a buyer at that price given the supply of V8 & V8/1's at well below it. The LSD is a nice extra but not sure about the Webasto sunroof.

Re: Question for B10 3.2 people
Anyone know what the story is with the different gearknob styles on the 3.2's? Why do some cars have the traditional ALPINA rosewood knob while others get a standard BMW knob with an ALPINA badge?
Obviously some may have been replaced over time but it seems like the majority I've seen had the BMW knob.

Bmw knob on mine Bob with just the gate positions as opposed to an Alpina badge, you have got me wondering now why mine is missing the Alpina badge?CaesarBob wrote: ↑Fri May 07, 2021 9:43 amAnyone know what the story is with the different gearknob styles on the 3.2's? The Alpina parts catalogue shows the following options, parts 14 being the BMW knob and Alpina sign and part 15 the Alpina rosewood one.
I am now wondering whether I have had a dodgy knob for a lot of years without realising it? Oh well, at least I can see where the gears are if i ever forget.

14 shift lever knob "ALPINA-sign" 51 43 766
15 shift lever knob 23 10 007

Never hurts to have an aide memoire, especially when you've only had a car for 18+ yearsAlpina Jim wrote: ↑Fri May 07, 2021 8:13 pmI am now wondering whether I have had a dodgy knob for a lot of years without realising it? Oh well, at least I can see where the gears are if i ever forget.
Wonder if the Rosewood options are still available? They somehow make a car seem more genuine.

Re: Question for B10 3.2 people
Number 63 is up for sale again on ebay for £5850 but in Dundee this time. Looking a lot cleaner and with a correct looking stereo head unit now fitted (see December 2020 post on this thread for previous photos).
Just for you Bob, the gear knob isn't either of the two options discussed recently.

Re: Question for B10 3.2 people
That knob is a bit different!
I spoke to the seller shortly after he acquired it in the last eBay auction, he said his first job was to replace the stereo.

Re: Question for B10 3.2 people
Interesting to see #189 has a standard non Alpina gear knob Bob, the same as mine. Maybe the Alpina spec ones were optional extras?
I have a yellowing fax copy of the order for my B10 so need to have alook at it, although I doubt it will be mentioned on it if the original BMW item was retained.
What we need is another 3.2 B10 owner with an Alpina gear knob and a copy of the original order to help us out.
This sure is life changing stuff.

Re: Question for B10 3.2 peoplei
It does like like that might be the case Jim, the cars with the Rosewood knobs are scattered across the build sequence so it does look like an option thing. Will keep an eye out for an owner who has the the Rosewood knob. Hopefully they’ll have an original order form.

Re: Question for B10 3.2 people
So that is three 3.2 B10's currently for sale on ebay then Bob.
That is a high percentage of the 194 saloons worldwide and even moreso with the UK ones.

As you say it’s a fair proportion of the original 62, but if you knock off known dismantled and exported cars that’s 10% of the remaining cars for sale!
