Alpina D3 MT DPF Removal

Post by Alpina_D3_MT » Tue Jan 09, 2024 9:47 pm

Hi all, I need to remove, clean and re-fit the DPF on my MT D3 (M47) and looking for some advice from those who have have successfully done this.

Reason for removing/cleaning is that there was a glow plug fault (now fixed) and coolant temps around 60-65 so new thermostats also being fitted. This has caused the DPF to block up.

I can get the DPF loose from the turbo and the lower bracket/exhaust but I can't seem to wiggle the DPF out from the car. It seems to keep catching on the engine mount and the side of the gearbox. The DPF pressure hose metal pipe is also catching on the steering column and there just doesn't seem to be the space to get it out!

Has anyone successfully managed to remove the DPF from the car? Cheers
