Looks lovely, form an orderly queue!
Looks like this may the the B5's swan song. UK configurator doesn't list regular B5 any longer either...

Where do I sign?! Just immense, I love it.
Hopefully there will be a few UK buyers to give me chance of a second hand one in a few years!!

Loving those, i'll be up for the estate in 10 years!
Great that there's still a binnacle on the dash rather than a series of Ipads, and a front grill that doesn't induce retina burn.

Re: New B5 model: B5 GT
Is this the last Alpina, Alpina. . . . . .
When I spoke to Gary Lott at Caffine and Machine a little while back when he bought the new D4's along. He said he thought they would use the B5 as the final Alpina model. Then about a week later news of the B5 GT came out. Being its the most powerful Alpina ever made could it also be the last new model??

But that’s about all the b5 Alpina would sell anyway
I imagine ?
Re: New B5 model: B5 GT
Now they are all sold, I hoped it wouldn’t be too remiss to give a contrary view, but I just don’t get the Marron Volciano thing at all - all I could find out about it is that it is a bronze/gold Fiat wheel colour? Is there an historical Alpina link? It all just looks a bit too brash to me, but I am silver stripes and wheels all the way anyway.
It isn’t going to happen, but in my hypothetical configuration I just kept trying to revert the wheels, rear badges, front spoiler lettering and stripes to silver - it won’t - then delete the massive beige lettering/stitching on the headrests, beige piped mats and revert the beige steering wheel stitching on the inside back to blue/green.
I doubt I would notice the few extra bhp at this power level, which has become neutralised by the electrical fraternity anyway.
I also don’t get the change to the strangely off round steering wheel centre boss with plastic silver surround or the bonnet creases (both from the M5 originally) they both just look odd from behind the wheel. The GT seats are in part Dakota so that’s a no no too.
However, I really like the anthracite wood, the noisier exhaust will probably be the best bit and a dome-bulkhead-strut also sounds nice, not to forget that everyone loves a canard or two.
By complete fluke I reconfigured my D5 S just to compare it at list and then with the same options I have to a new B5 two days before the configurator changed to the GT so I have the exact (saloon) figures.
D5 S £67700 list £86965 with options.
B5 £97500 list £112810 with options.
B5 GT £125500 list £131865 with options.
That’s £19000 more for the GT over the B5 (and £44900 more than the D5 S, which is now cheaper than a D3 S on 20’s).
I would be very pleased if I had ordered a standard B5 just before the changeover.
No idea about future higher residuals for a special edition, but for me, the Edition 50 was the last 5 based one with 600bhp and RWD, proper dials, and integrated sat nav screen and those fantastic heritage seats related to the stunning B7 S Turbo Coupé, would be more desirable in 5 to 10 years even if none are ever going to be available.
Now you can see on line that the next 5 series is confirmed as having the same massive screen afterthought as the LCI 3 and new 7, I would rather keep any of the above cars.
One of the excellent pictures from Shaziman’s trip to Buchloe shows the first real (non studio) picture I have seen of the Marron Volciano wheels on what looks like a very nice petrol mica GT. But Alpina Green wins for me - each to their own as ever!

Nice but will they work well with traditional Alpina green ? Which is my favourite colour option. And the price increases is staggering
