Sill plates/guards b10 e39 2000

Post by fastblueboy » Mon May 30, 2022 6:35 pm

Hi guys, being new to Alpina ownership and the forum, I hope I am doing the right thing in hoping to keep my car as original as possible, replacing anything that isn't, in that vein does anyone know where I can source the four, don't really know what they are called! Sill protectors/ plates with chrome on black with Alpina on them? Three of mine are perished and I am reluctant to put some on the car that is not original, is this perishing normal for a car of this age? I would be grateful for some advice.

Hi fastblueboy,

You can buy them from the main dealer at a vastly inflated price compared to the BMW equivalents or possibly try doing what I have done to one of mine for the price of the standard E39 BMW part. See page 2 of the following thread, I need to attend to another one on my 98 B10 as it is also starting to perish.

Good luck,
