I like the look of this new wheel design and the fact they’ve omitted the full front end view.

Let's hope Alpina has been able to do something with the butt ugly donor car :pray

Always nice to hear of new models. The F series gran coupe was a missed opportunity. Current G series GC design is questionable…

I know manufacturers are increasingly trying to find a niche for every car, but this is going to be basically identical to the G20 B3 under the skin whilst looking like a blind cobbler’s thumb by comparison and being slightly less practical.

Autocar article with pics.

Headline news is the bump in power to 488bhp, so it seems fairly certain that’s what the LCI B3 will get.

Both peak power and torque are up from the B3. 495hp and 730Nm. It’s a shame that they were probably prevented from altering the kidney grills.

The S58 seems to be the ultimate modern i6 engine at present, I wish it would fit into the E90/92 and was around at that time instead of the N54.

That is so ugly, shame it is even beyond Alpina to polish a turd  :wall2

As this will be one of the last Alpinas, I can see a good trade in revised fronts :D

I don't know if I'm biased because it's an Alpina, or because the hood actually works with the grill on their version, but it's not that bad. I wouldn't call it beautiful but neither would I call it hideous. Surely a lot better design than the M3/M4.

I don’t hate the front as much as the M4, I think it actuality works better embracing the chrome than a blacked out grill.

This is a curious statement:
… the new Alpina B4 Gran Coupé arrives just weeks after the Buchloe-based tuning brand was acquired by BMW and is thus officially named the BMW Alpina B4.

On the Alpina website the cars have been referred to as BMW Alpina for years - both in general/technical information and on the configurator, it’s nothing to do with the purchase which isn’t complete anyway.

I do like the rear 3/4 view on the Autocar pictures - it will be interesting to see how many current B4 owners will change to this body style given no traditional coupe alternative.

Yes, that was my point. You'd like to think a renowned publication like Autocar could do a couple of minutes research before publishing something.

Couldn’t agree more - at least they seem to have stopped writing that when the cars arrive at Buchloe every Alpina gets the interior ripped out to be replaced with lavalina - usually showing a picture of at best nappa never mind merino! Such a misunderstood and misrepresented manufacturer by the press generally.
