Hi all. Happy new year.

Car has now done 10,000 miles since I collected her in May Some updated thoughts.

I was after a car that could be a decent long distance motorway cruiser and then then be fun on arrival. Having now lived with the B3 for 8 months, I can’t think of a car that could do both of those things any better. It really is excellent in both modes.

We’ve now done quite a few trips to Scotland and Cornwall and on the way the car is quiet, refined and a very calm place to be, regardless of the conditions outside. Passengers seem to spend quite a lot of time asleep 😀 Fuel economy on such runs is ok; about 32/33 mpg. Overall average is around 26.

As for the ‘fun’ side. Well, the acceleration and handling really are fantastic. Even 3/4 pedal is more than enough for everyday driving and overtaking. 100% is for showing off, really 😀. Coming from an F10 which sometimes felt just a bit too big, this G21 feels much more ‘chuckable’.

The issue I had with hard seats seems to have solved itself through usage, but it has taken about 10000 miles to do so. Reducing the tyre pressure to 2.4 bar improved the ride substantially, without any significant effect on handling.

So, overall, I’m very pleased. I was surprised how long it took me to ‘get it’, as with other favourite cars (e39, boxster) it was love at first drive. But the G21 is now up there at the top of the list.

nice to see a B3 getting used properly, I also really like those Dymanic's. Having them on my E90 for me you can't beat a 5 spoke wheel. I would love a B3 but I would struggle to justify the mid 20's average. Although at the moment I'm not doing many miles at all. Hmmm maybe a B3 for me and a cheap Diesel for commuting. Now there's a thought.
