M sport steering wheel on Alpina? (F30)

Hi guys,

Do you know if anybody offers f30 BMW m sport steering wheel wrapped in Alpina leather including stitching?
I am not fan of classic sport wheel.

I’ve been thinking about the same thing. Would get it re-trimmed by MPM trimming in the correct stitching. Then need an Alpina badge for the airbag.

I was just looking at their instagram and the work is perfect. I just afraid about additional duties and vat from UK to CZE.
It is pity that no one took this opportunity, I would be happy to buy one directly.

You really need to talk to MPM directly. I had a repair done to the wheel as well at the same time and it was found my steering wheel had previously been redone over the top of the original material. So my job could be quite different to your needs.

I think you may find several related posts / threads on the F30 Bimmerpost forum. If I recall "Royal steering wheels" get good reports there.

I got my e36 m3 wheel done by MPM and I have been really impressed with the work.even got the rim thickness increased for a reasonable cost.

On the other hand I have tried to talk to Royal on several occasions and failed, by phone and email so won’t spend my time trying again.

I also contacted Royal Steering Wheels as they are literally 10mins from me, but they would not do the correct straight Alpina stitching "claiming it can't be replicated" they only offer cross stitch.

This was done by a guy called Matt who is ex an rolls royce trimmer. It took alot of practice to do the Alpina style stitching correctly and is the reason no one offers it over here in UK apart from him is my understanding. He is very busy with it now is all i know as i am waiting to get my E38 wheel redone by him

This is an M3 wheel retrimmed Alpina style instead of the OE SE wheels the e46s came with

To be honest mate, I don't share pricing as its very individual. Also I had a small repair done to my wheel and when Matt stripped the wheel he found it had been refurbished previously but they had just gone straight over the old material. So probably more work involved to put it all right.
Matt also did a Gear Gaiter and Handbrake Gaited in matching Alcantara with the correct Alpina stitching.

Swapping steering wheels is obviously a personal choice - my hands are not large, and I find an M sport steering wheel too chunky. I owned an F31 M340i for a couple of years with that steering wheel on it, and when I test drove what is now my F31 B3s, the first thing that struck me when I sat in the car, even before I started the engine, was that the Alpina steering wheel was much more comfortable for me to grip.
