Alpina roundels - definitely NAY
This has probably been done to death, but:
I really like the idea of Alpina roundels on the car. It is, after all, an Alpina and not a BMW. How many people fit Alpina roundels? Are they easy enough to get hold of?
Generally I prefer cars to be kept stock but this is one area where I would change things.
I don't currently own an Alpina although I have owned two in the past. I just have an ongoing love for them

Re: Alpina roundels - yay or nay?
The consensus here is only going one way!
I agree with it too. It’s not an Alpina, it’s a BMW Alpina; the company says so themselves and their own view is that BMW roundels on the bonnet and boot lid are appropriate. I wouldn’t change them. That being said I don’t have the vitriolic hatred some others do of the fake Alpina roundels. You’d not be hurting anyone by switching so each to his own. Just make sure if you do switch you keep the original badges as prospective Alpina buyers tend to value originality.
My main issue would be that in general the fakes seem to be quite cheap and nasty in construction. Also (and you quite reasonably might not care about this) fake roundels might make others wonder what else about the car is fake.

Alpina Bonnet/Boot roundels are all aftermarket and usually of pretty poor quality - AFAIAA Alpina have never produced any as they don't make the bonnet or boot, they're BMW parts.gregwatson wrote: ↑Tue Nov 16, 2021 6:52 pmI really like the idea of Alpina roundels on the car. I think BMW parts should have BMW roundels / Alpina parts should have Alpina roundels

I definitely wouldn't want fakes, but I've seen Alpina reviews where the factory fresh cars have Alpina roundels. I don't know if it's a market / region specific thing...
Re: Alpina roundels - yay or nay?
The only Alpina-made boot/bonnet roundels I've ever heard of were some like these fitted to very early cars - I think they predate the Alpina logogregwatson wrote: ↑Tue Nov 16, 2021 7:25 pmI definitely wouldn't want fakes, but I've seen Alpina reviews where the factory fresh cars have Alpina roundels.

And there's a bonnet roundel in that video - but it's the guy's own car so I think he's added them.gregwatson wrote: ↑Tue Nov 16, 2021 7:34 pmHere's one example

Have you seen any official Alpina video, or one of the official review cars loaned to the press, with them?
I doubt it...

I can not understand why someone would want to put those cheap and nasty fake badges on a new cargregwatson wrote: ↑Tue Nov 16, 2021 7:34 pmHere's one example

Something he is entitled to do, but the Alpina did not leave Buchloe like that.

What ALPINA (Sal) said.
They’re all knock offs, but it’s your car so your choice. Not for me though.

Re: Alpina roundels - yay or nay?
I definitely wouldn't want anything fake or naff, and I agree with not bespoiling the art which is Alpina. I just presumed the boot badge in that B4 review video was genuine and if so, it would be a legitimate question to ask if - say - they used Alpina boot roundels in some markets or regions.
I owned a B10 V8 for 15 years as well as a B10 BiTurbo so I'm a fully paid up enthusiast. Although my B10 V8 was an early one and had standard BMW dials instead of Alpina ones, so perhaps I'm trying to compensate for that
