hi gents,

and thanks for accepting my registration.

I'm in the market for an F10 B5 saloon. Something that I'm keen to get your views on is would you entertain buying a high mileage car (~120k) that has been meticulously maintained. e.g. all common N63 issues were rectified.

While I love the exclusive/rare factor I also wonder, what F10 B5's are like maintenance wise?

No idea about the F10's specifically but the fact I haven't heard of any issues I would take as a good thing. Those of us with the older E60/61 have the supercharger to consider but with the turbos of the F10 I'm sure you would be fine.

Personally I'm not a fan of higher mile cars as of course with use parts deteriorate, and these are never cheap cars to maintain, but if there is a history file with the car that shows diligent servicing and maintenance and any major parts already replaced this could be a good thing and save you some cash down the line.

For me it would be very much down to the paperwork that comes with the car. Happy searching and I hope you end up getting one.

Other than con rods bearing on N63, is anyone aware of any other 'common issues' or challenge areas on F10/11 cars?
