Sytner Nottingham and my B4
Sytner Nottingham and my B4
So as many of you know I purchased a B4 Convertible from Sytner about 5 weeks ago and there were a number of issues that needed to be addressed, so they collected the car this morning a left me a runabout.......now that's what I call a loaner!

Re: Sytner Nottingham and my B4
After you've driven it for a spell I'd be really interested to get your impressions. How about a little write up when its gone back?

Re: Sytner Nottingham and my B4
So I did not get to spend as much time with the D3 Touring as I had hoped, I thought I would have it until Friday but my car is being returned tonight so back it goes. From the short time I had the car I would sum up as follows:
- Colour combination was excellent, I now see the fuss everyone makes about the Green!
- I would always chose the Pan Roof
- The Seats were really comfortable and supportive (unfortunately they were NOT electric....why would you do that?)
- The layout and digital dash are great
- I drove it Comfort mode with the gearbox in sport, power delivery was so smooth, my wife was amazed at how comfortable it was and how it just soaked up the bumps.
- This model had paddles, is that now standard, have the buttons gone?
- In sport mode on the local country roads it was planted and damn fun!
- I did miss the sound of the exhaust buts that's a minor point.
Looking forward to getting the B4 back!

Re: Sytner Nottingham and my B4
As courtesy cars go it's a cracker.
The paddles are an option (a tick over £200 IIRC) so the buttons haven't gone yet; I think I read somewhere than Andy Bovensiepen prefers the buttons as they're an Alpina tradition but they bowed to pressure from customer feedback to add the paddles as an option; I definitely prefer the paddles both for the look and the feel. I love the seats though oddly my wife finds them uncomfortable, possibly as she's so short she doesn't comfortably reach the headrest!
I hope they return your B4 in tip top condition.

This is a great car and looks really good in the fleshJonnywishbone wrote: ↑Wed Jun 09, 2021 5:39 pmThe paddles are an option (a tick over £200 IIRC) so the buttons haven't gone yet; I think I read somewhere than Andy Bovensiepen prefers the buttons as they're an Alpina tradition but they bowed to pressure from customer feedback to add the paddles as an option; I definitely prefer the paddles both for the look and the feel.
This is how the paddles look and I find them easier to use than the buttons having had both over time, so they get more usage than when I had the button option in the last D3.

Re: Sytner Nottingham and my B4
So the B4 came back and all looked great, the boot lid struts changed, the foam pads removed from the old number plate, the light wheel kerb repaired. When the car went back I forgot to send the wheel key (muppet), however, they assured me that they could fix it whilst it was on the car, so all good.
A couple of days later I cleaned the car and the noticed that new blemish had been introduced to the wheel that was not there before, so emailed them on Friday morning and no response thus far?

I have been given the authority to get the wheel fixed locally, can anyone recommend a wheel refurb company near Chertsey in Surrey?

Re: Sytner Nottingham and my B4
Have used the wheel specialist in Farnborough before, not for Alpina wheels but the quality of the finish was good.

You could use Premier Wheel Repairs in Redhill.
