Just had a quote for renewing the BMW Insured Warranty and wanted opinions.
I've got an E93 B3s Biturbo with 55560 miles on the clock bought from Sytner Nottingham last year.
No excess or Emergency Services:
Comprehensive - 1250.92 p.a. / 124.80 p.m.
Named component - 988.04 p.a. / 100.24 p.m.
100 excess, no Emergency Services
Comprehensive - 951.22 p.a. / 96.15 p.m.
Named Component - 791.67 p.a. / 82.85 p.m.
In the 17 years (and 90k miles) of MX5 ownership prior to taking the plunge with Alpina, I had to replace 2xABS sensors, an air mass sensor, the catalytic converter, exhaust, and an electric window switch out of warranty.
I'd be delighted if the Alpina turned out to be as reliable as the 5 so the question is whether or not the extended warranty is worth it on my current car?
Have you needed to make use of your policy?
Is it good value for money?
Is it worth the extra for the Comprehensive policy over Named Component?
The policy that came with my Approved Used car expires on the 29th of June so any comments before this time would be much appreciated.
Thanks in advance,
Shailen
Insured Warranty
As someone who works in the Network, the Comprehensive Warranty is the only one to go for
Recently had an E93 in for a convertable roof problem, part alone was the price of the years warranty
Its worth having as i've seen cars with the Named Component or Driveline level of cover have issues that wernt covered by the Insured Warranty

I paid 2,000chf (give or take) for a fully comp warranty. The expected bill from my claim is around the 12,000chf mark
