Redex and MPG
Redex and MPG
my opinion was snake oil , then ok must be something in it to now its in my tank and also in all my other cars Gave the Porsche the redex treatment to see the mpg go from 18.4 to 22.6 just for running the stuff in the tank it also pulls a bit better https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=03nL8Z0dRkI
I am still in shock but now added at every fill up over all my fleet

That's not the same stuff. The Redex in the first post is a cleaner for the fuel system.Ashok wrote:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O2KNbbdQv3E

I do 35000 per year. I too am dubious, but got some 'wynns gold' from halfrauds. Mpg gone up by 1mpg on computer (and I do the same journey day in, day out with same heavy foot with computer on same mileage for ages). Quieter on cold start. But the most noticeable thing was when I turned engine off, it would 'judder' quite severely and sometimes hesitate very, very occasionally when mild acceleration at about 60ish
Faster? No, better acceleration? No. Smoother, quieter running? Yes. Better mpg? Apparently.
15 quid well spent, but then I do hammer the old girl and she needs a treat every once in a while...

If you can't fix it with a hammer, you have an electrical problem.....
let us know how you get on, I am trying it just now with our works fleet and have to say some of the results are staggering but will reserve this until we get more data, but we are also trying the Slick 50 fuel system treatment to comparedodgyken wrote:Dumped a bottle in the Passat and it certainly cut out some of the heavy smoke.

I did 2 full bottles in 2 tanks on the wifes 2005 104,000 mile Freelander
It has made a noticeable difference to MPG.
I put a bottle in B3 OOH and went to Heathrow and back and it returned the best MPG results in 6 years.
It had the inspection 2 service just prior to the trip also.

I have found similar results, put a shot in, and MPG shoots up by 2-3 mpg. Also found that the smoke i get on my non DPF-Diesel engine massively reduces after the first 10 miles or so of driving.
I use it all the time, and get it cheap from Costco

The Porsche has just returned a massive 32 mpg on a long motorway run over 160 miles and at road legal driving which may account for the return but was always above 65mphMickB3 wrote:I did 2 full bottles in 2 tanks on the wifes 2005 104,000 mile Freelander

The wife's X3 is now returning an extra 3 to 4 mpg more
and only using standard grade fuel in both so a happy Redex convert here

So here's the cost/benefit question:
How much saving is made in improved economy per redex treatment?
And here's another one:
How many "tanks of fuel" improvement do you get per treatment

I cant help I am afraid. I don't really bother to work it out, I only checked on B3 OOH because i was going on a long trip and I had put it in. 50 miles to the tank better than I had ever seen.Charles wrote:So here's the cost/benefit question:

Wife's car is doing the usual ( round the town mileage) and the gap between fill ups has increased.
That's as scientific as it gets in my world.

On a long trip I get about 50 miles better range than shorter journeys so I am not convinced, to be honest.MickB3 wrote:I cant help I am afraid. That might be more telling but it would need a more analytical assessmentWife's car is doing the usual ( round the town mileage) and the gap between fill ups has increased.
