Gary. Simon fitted ours and done a great job But if that is the direction that you also want to take then it is better for him if you can leave the car there for the week. He is a very busy guy and leaving the car enables him to fit it into his daily routine without any pressure.scalesg wrote:Wow that takes a while then!!

Looks great. But you are a braver man than me. Not something I would fancy tackling on my own.dodgyken wrote:The pinstripe one!

I hope that you are pleased with the results. I certainly would be

It's not perfect - but pretty good - and no worse than Heidegger did on the B3. They key is marking up the dimensions with masking tape - and not getting tense.MCB wrote:Looks great. But you are a braver man than me. Not something I would fancy tackling on my own.dodgyken wrote:The pinstripe one!

7 years ago I was on a 3 man team that put the vinyl on the front of this. The bumper is a single piece of carbon fibre from SEAT Sport - the main vinyl is also a single piece. There are sections where the bodywork bends in every direction!

Well if you can do a job like that on the Seat then I am sure the Alpina should not pose that much of a problem.
That Seat Leon does look pretty damn good though Takes me back to my racing days

It took an hour to do the second side - so under 4hrs. So fairly happy with that.
Next on the list of jobs are:
- Replace PDC sensor on the X3
- Decide whether the clunking from the rear of the X3 is serious

@MCB - Anthracite - I'll try to get some better pictures over the weekend. I felt black was gone to be too hard against the silver. I liked the subtle silver on white that my old B3 had. This is a bit more stand out but I think it works - massively alters the visual blockiness of the sides. (IMHO)
@Bebs - Thanks - although as long as you follow the instructions you can't really get it wrong. a couple of points for fitting:
1) Simon supplies extra long pieces - so cutting to approximate length before you start is helpful
2) Mask the measure points prior to fitting - this means you can tack the start and then just straight line to the end of the panel
3) One the doors rough cut the door handle from the stripes - this makes it much easier to fit
4) It would be nice if the application guide gave descriptions too - so for example on the E60 the rear stripes should line up with the rear light elements.
You don't get too many striped E60s so I'm happy with it
