New Here...
New Here...
Good evening all, very new here and very new to Aplina ownership, so new I haven't actually collected it yet! Sunday marks the new black hole in my finances but a very exciting one to look into. I bought this one!
Holding my breath on most of the potential pitfalls but looking forward optimistically too. Its got 65 K on the odo and a full BMW service history and documents to-boot. Looking forward to exploring the North Yorks countryside. (again)
I drive a BMW 250D M sport touring SE to work and have put 170,000 on it in five years! The B5 will not be given this treatment! It's very tidy all round and the interior is immaculate.
Be gentle

And so it starts! Even before I have picked it up. Checked out that it has the correct oil filter……. it has the correct part, just need to see if they inspected the chargers clutch at the last service, as it's just done 65K. If it hasn't been looked at, it would seem to be a good time to change the belt at the same time as they inspect the clutch?….and, is this a big job?
Thanks in advance

Might be worth checking if the charger is healthy. Its very easy to confirm.rodbargee wrote:And so it starts! Even before I have picked it up. The large black plastic air pipe that runs from the air filter to the charger inlet over the top of the engine. Remove the 3 jubilee clips that hold this in place and take a photo with your phone or use a small mirror to look into the charger/turbine. If the is any sign of oil around the turbine or in the black plastic air pipe the charger needs replacing (the internal shaft seal has broken down and is letting oil slip past into the turbine housing) This seal cannot be replaced, it requires a new charger.
