You need a roof box Marc!

You need an F11 with roof rails! :D

Trip to North Devon, four up plus luggage. 33MPG over 250-odd miles, which isn’t much to write home about but it’s nearly double what I get on my commute. The B3 is almost perfect for the job. I say almost as I suspect a 5 would be even better with some extra space and more relaxed damping, but that’s being picky.

As the subject has been brought up and given that as the kids age we’ll need more load carrying capacity, does anybody have recommendations for a good set of roof bars and a box?

Roof rails would be preferred if i'm honest for both aesthetics and function (more for mountain bikes than a box), but as with buying most used Alpinas you're compromising somewhere...
Somebody elses choices and all that.

IMO they ride even nicer when fully loaded and fuelled!

I’ve said it many times but I really wish mine had roof rails too!

#135 is currently on tour down in France - thought I’d share a photo of it in warmer climes!

Had to show the pilot of a very nice looking 22 plate M4 convertible who's boss. I was as much surprised by the margin as he was deflated. Don't think his ego will risk taunting an Alpina B5 again. :D

A bit more pedestrian than grumpy, but met the eastern group for breakfast at sherburn aero club and won car of the day (there was only 8 cars so not any achievement).

Then had a walk around the motorist van day, just don’t get it have no interest in a tarted up vw transporter or transit and really do not see the point of air ride, just pointless. It was just full of fashion victims and baseball caps.

Our man Nick went for a flight and got a lesson instead, should try that.

Yesterday, I prepped my E39 B10 3.3 Touring and then dropped it off at Lee Shannon's last night. Lee is going to repair it after the deer strike way back in March of this year. It's been drivable since but I can't wait to have it looking tip top again. In fact it should come back looking better since it will now have new and painted roof strips (between the legs of the roof rails). The paint had cracked on these and they spoilt the look of the car.

Coded the car to display tyre temperatures in addition to pressures. Just need to test.

Mostly got caught out with the tyre situation.

Having used a tyre weld and it still not done the job, I am now sat waiting for a mobile fitter with a single Pirelli, only to be switched out as soon as I can get a full set of Michelins, grrrr.
