Took my B3 to Bird's in Iver following the advisory on the MOT that I needed new wishbones on the front. Almost £1k later and the car is driving well.

Hopefully it wasn't just an arm for that, what else did they do?

Gave my set of winter wheels a good clean and ceramic coating. I am not sure if the coating adds any protection but I’ve applied it for the past two years and the wheels have not deteriorated during this time.

Started to clean my D3, but everything froze up after doing the wheels and the driveway was an ice rink. Gave up. At least the wheels are clean!

In the minus range for the next 5 days & didn’t want it turning to ice, Also there is a parking suspension in that spot on Thursday so needed to move it.

I drove both of mine yesterday. I got the B4 MOTd first thing and then took the B5 on a shopping trip to Shrewsbury.

I thought I might add an entry to the dirty Alpina thread but I can’t compete with John’s B5!!

Replaced a third tyre (NSR) within little more than 6000 miles. I know exactly how it happened; driving at 20mph over a gigantic pothole obscured by snow. What is more galling is that later in the day I went past the road and the side of the road I was driving down had been coned off by the council.

Fortunately as I only replaced both rears 1000 miles ago, there was enough life in the OSR for me to not want to replace both. Which is a relief at £350 a pop for the OEM rubber.

Personally it hasn’t made me regret having the forged 20” classics on the car, but I’ve no doubt that the very low profile tyres are puncture magnets. Worth a ponder for anybody considering one of these.

Hose still frozen, so cleaning will have to wait. Put the winters on though.

Brake fluid service and MoT in 1 hour 45 mins at Autohaus in York this morning.

Another year and only 7000 miles done, not really any point of having a diesel now that I predominantly work from home. Maybe time to switch back to Benzine?

New MOT secured with no advisories.

Just need to get the screen replaced and also address a weeping diff seal, to get her back to tip top condition.

Where is that place?

My update for my E39 B10 is I managed to get a spare rear wheel for it off eBay recently. The 9Js don't come up very often, unlike the 8Js.

I now have both a spare front and back, which is reassuring.

Well just need someone to come round with a bag of cash and Bob to simultaneously identify a B3 touring with a lsd coming to market.
