After a ride around the block, I completed the change at the front and then gave 193 it’s first clean since I’ve had it. Pls don’t say anything because I’ve only used it 4 times in the last 3 months due to lockdown.

I opened the roof today. It still works :D :D :D. Summer preps complete. Nothing exciting to report I'm afraid. Hopefully won't be long before we are all meeting up again. Festival of Speed first highlight of the year.

Finally got round to replacing the original 105° thermostat with the 88° one I bought a couple of months ago. This is a well known mod amongst BMW V8 owners (Google it). The idea is the engine runs a bit cooler putting less strain on things.
Also dropped the bottom sump as I was curious to see if there were any pieces of broken timing chain guide. I was pleased to see the sump and engine internals looking very clean with no sign of debris.
New anti-freeze, oil and filters, so all is good.

That is a very tidy engine bay, looks like new. Something to aspire to, I will need to raise my game.
