Fitted a new window regulator to my B3 3.3 today. The rear window gave up the ghost when i visited BMR last week. They were nice enough to lock it in the closed position for me, so i could get home.

Fitting was pretty easy, but i noticed that the vapour barrier has been cut and not carefully removed. New one needed - ARGH!!

BMW part or can anyone reccomend where these can be bought?

More a case of "What did you do FOR your ALPINA today?" as I ordered a set of Michelin Pilot Alpin PA4 tyres to go on the second set of staggered wheels that I acquired earlier this year for my car. Speaking to my local fitters who I have entrusted to source the tyres, apparently Michelin store virtually all their winter rubber in France and so it will be 3-4 days until they arrive in Oxford. As for price, I know that I could have saved about 10% by buying online, but I am one of those who like to support local businesses so that they get the mark-up

Whilst I have enjoyed the relative stealth mode of a set of 17" BMW wheels shod with Michelin Alpin tyres for several years (complete with ALPINA centre caps), I have always been conscious that the narrower rears (225 vs 255) led to much squirming when temperatures were near or above 7C and so, with the opportunity of having matching summer and winter staggered wheels, I decided to invest in more appropriate rubber - particularly for the rear axle.

I am still wondering whether the wider rears will fare as well as the narrower ones but I can only tell by trying. Where I live, we tend to get cold, wet and ice, but not much snow - so I reckon that I should be OK. But, if it is really bad weather and they can't cope with heavy snow, then I still have the narrow 17s to fall back on (or the family Polo).

Hopefully a very wise investment Charles

Sounds good Charles. I also had my winter tyres fitted today so will update my other thread shortly - I went for Alpin 5s.

Have they put the invoice through today so you can take advantage of the Michelin Cashback offer?

The Alpin 5 is a great tyre - did you go staggered sizes? And why Alpins and not Pilot Alpins?

My fitters are not part of the scheme, unfortunately, but they know how to look after my wheels. Bit of a personal cost benefit analysis.

Sorry I should have been clearer - I went with the Pilot Alpin 5 in a (slightly) staggered size. I’ll update my other thread with the details now.

That looks very nice and sleek. Silver suits the Touring well.

I collected it from Lee Shannon. Broke down on the M40 last Friday  . All sorted now. Nice to see Kevin Hills B10 and B12 in there getting some serious TLC. :D :D :D

Thanks. It's nice to have her back home. Need a good clean inside and out. Thankfully my issue was nothing sinister. Blown fuse and possibly a defective fuel pump relay. She will be back with Lee in the new year for a few jobs.

Shot a video with James of Jayemm on cars from YouTube.

He seemed to like the D3.

Got a call from my friendly neighbourhood tyre fitters to say the full set of Pilot Alpin PA4 tyres were in from France, so went to get them fitted today.

Pleased to say that the second set of wheels that I liberated from Dan's B3S saloon rolling chassis were absolutely straight and true :D
