Well its going back in to BMW tomorrow for them to test the battery and hopefull it should be covered by the warranty.
The car was inspected by BMW yesterday and he did mention that the battery was very low then, so maybe its gone beyond being recharged. My battery charger even flagged up that the battery needed replacing.

But on the whole the car is in good mechanical fettle, gonna have the diff seals replaced and have the transmission fluid level checked.

All the rest, I am going to do.

I was talking to Liz about your car earlier (she saw it too last year). She said exactly what I thought when I saw your posts...glad it's gone to an enthusiast, as it's worth a little effort on what was basically a very, very fine car.

Good luck with it all...and an iffy battery is a small worry, especially as it's warranted :D

I know that I will have a few gremlins, but am sure will be able to overcome them.
The Alpina sill trims on the drivers and passengers doors are scuffed, so ordered new ones of them.
Also going to order the V8s spoiler and new chrome decals, but the decals alone are £200.

I thought I would post a few pictures, this is before I begin to detail the paintwork. I have begun to clean the inside and remove the horrible silicon spray that garages seem to coat the entire car in. As you can see the exhaust pipes need a right good sort, the alloys will eventually done, so these are the 'before'pictures!

I took the original tax disc from my E30 and I thinks its quite appropriate...

Car looks good, maybe similar to mine condition wise as I also have similar stuff to do (will post a few photos to compare).

Interested to see what you do with the headlight covers as mine seem to need a clean on the inside and not sure they come off!

As regards the headlamp lense cleaning, you can buy a kit from Megs, but just to give it a little clean, I gave them a polish with some cutting compound, and then worked through each of the grades.
But I do recall an article in Total BMW where they used 2000 grade wet and dry. With careful and even rubbing down you can get them back to looking brand new.

That is what I will be doing eventually and will post pics, if you can find that article, it takes you through step by step.

Having seen it in the flesh, although she wasn't sparkly-clean back then, I have a slight advantage...though TBH I think in pix, it 'fools' the camera
