There is currently a petition to remove Khan from office. It covers a few things and one of the reasons is the expansion of ULEZ

Further reading is available here about the plans for the London ULEZ : https://content.tfl.gov.uk/next-steps-f ... nsport.pdf

Of concern to those people whose cars are currently ULEZ exempt are steps 2 and 3 to reduce emissions further.

Agreed, I doubt he will go before the next London mayoral election even though more and more organisations are disliking him. The only time and unfortunately us nobodies have democracy or a say is at the ballot box either in a referenda or an election which is useless in a General Election for safe or the speaker's seat.

Buckinghamshire Council and Essex County Council have refused to give permission to install the street signs and cameras warning drivers they are approaching ULEZ. As well as some London boroughs have refused ULEZ cameras but I think these are all conservative therefore they would do

Whilst my 2015 D4 is not what I consider to be an older Alpina, DVLA did not have it down as EURO 6 so....A request to Buchloe for a Certificate of Confirmation (thank you Charles for the help); A payment in Euros; then send a scan of the certificate to DVLA who replied...

Thank you for providing us with the evidence required.

I am pleased to confirm that the vehicle record has now been updated to reflect the Euro 6 status. This will update the Clean Air Zone Vehicle Checker to show a 'No Charge' result.

It can be done!!!!

Thanks everone for leading the way, I just follow! :D :D :D

I'm being lazy as it may be in the thread.

Has anyone with a prior 2001 car - meaning: E36 3.2 or B10 3.2, or per-facelift E39 3.3 or E46 3.3 been successfully submitting for the ULEZ?
Did anyone give you an answer to this?

I'm after this as well as for an E92 D3 Biturbo, as TFl says no to all, but they have no Nox limits of Pm limits specified, this is all thanks to Shytners shytness when registering vehicles...

I have seen a B10 V8 E39 1998 on ebay stating ULEZ exempt.

You can e-mail alpina as said before to get Nox value before you pay for certificate.

It's 0.08g/km ULEZ limit for petrol, not sure about diesels. might be the same.

What an interesting thread.

I have an E39 M5 and an E39 B10 V8S, and I was expecting to have to stop driving them both this Summer. However I have emailled Alpina and they've come back with the Nox number for the B10 as 0.0638 g/km. So I will get the certificate, claim the exemption and keep the car.

So for anyone else with the same car, the 4.8 litre B10 V8S does appear to be exempt, much as the earlier 4.6 litre B10 V8 is.

Thanks to this forum for bringing up the topic - I'd never have thought to ask otherwise.

Regards,
Ben.

PS The M5 of course is way over - 0.1 or so, which seems a tiny number, but is 25% over the 0.8 limit.

Now that I have a little time over the Easter holidays, I have been chasing this up with both TfL and DVLA.

Having submitted my details at the start of January, it transpires that TfL had received them but done nothing with them! They are now on the case and have promised ten days turnaround.

As for DVLA, the suggested link only allows you to do one upload but they ask for two documents - go figure! Anyway, having tried to explain what I wanted to achieve on the online form numerous times and different ways, I decided to call them instead. A nice man called Scott directed me to a specific department and I have now written a letter (!!!) and sent the V5 and Emissions certificate and expect a response in the next fortnight. This route would mean the record for my car is suitably amended for any and all current and future ULEZ locations - including TfL.

Until I actually see the result I want I am not holding my breath, though!

So i followed the guide here and just got my CoC from Alpina.

BTW, they're customer service now Axel Rimpler has left is atrocious...

So i am calling all D3BT owners as this doesnt make sense, some cars are exempt and some are not. Mine is not according to TFL, so now i have the CoC i can comfirm that although the format from Alpina has changed compared to Rav's photos, the figure stated for NOx is 119.10mg/km, so thats 0.1191g/km, over 0.08g/km limit. So what have the other E9x D3BT owners got as NOx figures please? I think there may be a chance to challenge Alpina here.

Evening all,

I followed the excellent guide from the forum (many thanks) and emailed Alpina (classic@alpina.de) on 16th April, requesting to confirm the NOx value of my E46 B3 3.3 and obtain a emissions certificate. I sent my Alpina 'WAP' chassis number (not the BMW one) and the four pages of my V5C.

I almost immediately received the auto generated 'no-reply' email from them, stating they are very busy and won't be able to reply to my query within 24 hours.....but it's been 5 weeks! Can someone please tell me how long they had to wait for them to reply back to confirm the NOx value, and then proceed to the next part of purchasing a emissions certificate?

It wasn't necessary to send my BMW chassis number in addition to the Alpina one was it?

I'm just a little concerned as time is getting on, and the ULEZ is dawning on west London.

Many thanks in advance for any help/feedback.

Regards
Sat

I would email Katharina Hoefler - k.hoefler@alpina.de - who is part of the admin team at ALPINA Classic. She handled my enquiry and responded positively to a little nudge.

If you use your ALPINA VIN, she should be able to track down your initial enquiry, confirm the NOx level (which I would expect to be less than the 0.076g/km for the B3S and therefore ULEZ compliant) and arrange the sale of the certificate to you.

FYI -

Katharina Höfler is on maternity leave and her auto generated email pointed me to her colleague: Mrs Jana Schacher (j.schacher@alpina.de), in case anyone else needs to get in contact.

A further update

This is proving far more challenging than it needs to be!

I have finally (after 6 weeks) got my V5C back from DVLA, showing the NOx emissions levels that satisfy the ULEZ standards. This required me to send the old V5C, the Emissions Certificate and a covering letter to DVLA. However, I now discover that in order to update the ULEZ Vehicle Checker records, I have now had to send a copy of the updated V5C to the Clean Air Zone (CAZ) support team, as they need to update the checker records separately!

At the same time, I have had to register my vehicle with TfL and send a copy of the V5C (all four pages) and the Emissions Certificate for them to do the same - because it is a separate system!

Fingers crossed that it finally works on both systems .....
