Trip

Car has had first longish run since all the work I’ve done on it. Trip to N Ireland to see mum who is in hospital. Overall did just over 700 miles, averaged 31mpg. Couple of minor problems cropped up. Took me a while to realise the odd noise with the wipers on was the drivers wiper catching under the passengers wiper when the wind was strong. Minor adjustment cured that. Also the on board lights monitor randomly lights up. Not fixed yet but reasonably confident cleaning the bulb contact points will cure that. Not really a great list, otherwise starts stops and runs brilliant. I’m convinced that the gearbox was way better at the end than when I started the journey. If I had a complaint it would be that the throttle is very heavy which to my mind makes the car feel heavy??? It’s a new cable. Any tips to lighten it up.

have you checked the the throttle body opening it by hand see how that is? Normally a stiff throttle is an old cable but you've done that. Some other bmws used to get sticky throttles from the butterfly disc wearing the housing out and making it all stiff. May just need a clean up
