Oh no, I've owned the Alpina for a little over a year and bought a car with a bad paint job, rebuilt a part and decided to postpone the painting. And just recently I got into a car accident and I want to revive it, make candy.

Apparently translation difficulties, spare parts are no longer available for order, or is this catalog not relevant? what of it?

You need to add boot and bonnet BMW roundels to your parts list as you have those dreadful fake Alpina ones on the car at present

By the way, yes, it’s not authentic, but in the BMW e9x club everyone likes the option with Alpina badges) but I didn’t add it to the list because there is a BMW dealer in my city, 5 minutes away) :D

I tried ordering the owners supplement via 3 different dealers in the UK, all drew a blank and said it was unavailable after a few months of waiting. I have a pdf copy of the manual with not so good photos of the pages, if you message me I can email it to you, better than nothing.

Your car is a fantastic colour, but it doesn’t look right without the Alpina alloy wheels. Are the seats good under the covers?

Thanks for the compliment John. When I bought the car, the front seats were already worn out, the rear ones are in perfect condition, I plan to order the front ones after painting the car. Regarding the wheels, I agree with you, the problem is that the previous owner sold Alpina wheels before he put the car up for sale. The wheels were the same as yours, by the way I have a dilemma to get the style of the wheels like yours or the second option? The one in the photo. It's sad that I can't order spare parts, I have 2 catalogs, if you have a different type of catalog, you can send it to me at iskander_b3_biturbo@icloud.com . Sincerely, Iskander

Email sent.

The option I guess you mean the Dynamic Wheels?

I found the Classics do have rattling centre covers, it’s always a problem that happens again and again, I am always fitting new foam pads on the backs of them, also the valve stems are metal and it’s a problem then when you need to refurbish them, but I think they do look nicer. The Dynamics I had on the D3 BiTurbo, are better practically as they have less parts and for me are easier to keep clean.

Foam pads are not the answer - they just cushion the cap on the wheel to protect paint damage once the fit is correct.

Instead, try adjusting the L-shaped piece on the back of the cover to tighten the fit. This is what this piece is designed for, as stated by Alpina themselves.

Usually that does help. The L brackets on mine are all tight to the inside lip of the alloy, so much so that I have to pull them out with the key in them on two to spring them off, to get them over the corners of ribbed spokes without chipping the finish, but it’s the lock side that rattles once you manage to slot them in, even with new locks and tabs, so I’ve taken to wrapping the thick chrome lock tab with some plumbers self-amalgamating tape to cushion that side too. It’s an art in itself.
I’m not swapping them as I think they look fantastic, especially once refurbished, but the Dynamics have none of that.
