Wanted: B3 Touring

Post by hooneybadger » Thu Sep 16, 2021 5:03 pm

Would look at 3 (preferred) or 5, but only after petrol.

Something like that E91 B3S wagon that sold the other week would be ideal, appreciate they're very rare (gutted I didn't see this site/that one before now) but something of a similar ilk to that would be very much of interest.

Wouldn't rule out coupes or saloons, but ideally the Touring is the one.

Thanks for any help in advance.!
Never not on the hunt for a petrol Alpina Touring - B3 or B3S preferred but B5 series considered

Not sure if you’ve seen in any of the other posts but there were only four UK E91 B3’s (1 x B3 BT and 3 x B3 S BT’s) and we know where three of the four reside. There is also a recently imported Japanese B3 BT.

Depending on your budget it could well be that you’ll find an F31 B3 before another E91 surfaces.

Similarly, there aren’t many E61 B5’s: 3 x B5’s and 1 x B5 S

Thanks much for the reply Bob, appreciate the info - I saw Galactus' recent post but thanks for confirming the very limited supplies! Sounds like a coupe or saloon is the way to go in E9x form, and will keep an eye on F31 Tourings too. Budget is available for the right car - I have seen F30 saloons go for circa £30K - do Tourings follow that price trend?

I'm sure if I drove a Dx Touring I'd be impressed, but something puts me off buying any diesel car these days.

I have seen those 2 B10 Tourings advertised as well - Millennium Heroes and the one on AT - but they seem pricey for the age.

Thanks again for the info :D

Yep and I think I can safely say that 3 of the 4 of us E61 owners aren't interested in selling and the 4th one is in Edinburgh but the owner isn't a forum user but has owned theirs for some time so likely is another keeper :)

It may be worth having a drive of the F3X D3, they are quite a car, plenty fast enough for a daily and would open up more choices for you, but again in Touring guise there are not many that come up for sale, that said more than the B3.

Ha, don't worry Jules, have totally got the message there and who can blame you!

Have had the opportunity to buy D3s in the past but never pulled the trigger, think I'd always have regret for not getting a petrol one. If nothing has changed by this time next year though...

So these are all the Petrol Tourings', across the E46, E91, F31, E39, E61 & F11 ranges, that I've seen come up for sale since Jan-19.

- Q/E Date is the period in which the latest advert seen was posted.
- Mileage is the as declared in the advert
- Price is the last advertised price
- The 3 highlighted as the only ones I have seen currently for sale

I have also listed all the known UK RHD cars built, split B3 & B10/B5
- Mileage is included based on the latest MOT where details are known.

Love that Bob, and nice to know I'm not the only person who likes a well ordered spreadsheet :)

I run my financial life on Excel - but I have a bad habit of just extending existing spreadsheets to long pages only viewable on screen with a scroll bar rather than adding tabs for new ones so it's a good job I never print them out. Old habits die hard!
