Wanted B10 Alpina

Post by E36_M » Sun Apr 11, 2021 8:22 pm

Hi All,

Recently joined and just wanted to reach out to the Alpina community and say hello. We are on the lookout for a B10 Alpina...flexible on the variant.

Missed out on a couple and noticed traders are snapping up any decent ones only to relist at a higher price...

This will be the first Alpina for us so please any advice/tips on buying is welcome.

Welcome aboard.

A few specifics might help with advice for your search:
- E28, E34 or E39?
- Engine: 6-pot,V8, Bi-Turbo?
- Mileage/Budget?
- Must haves/deal breakers?

sorry I should have been more specific.....

- E39
- Would consider all engines however prefer the V8 burble
- Budget 7k - 10k
- Alpina decals would be nice, as for spec not fixated on specifics.
- Mileage can vary - looking for good service history/maintenance

One of the advantages of looking for a B10 is there’re always a few for sale in the usual places as well as on here of course. Main issue with an E39 B10 is rust so make sure you give any car a thorough check, pretty much all the problems you might encounter are E39 related rather than Alpina.

Great thanks a lot....

#177 - looks pretty good on the face of it. have tried to contact seller today so will keep you posted
#336 - wasn't aware of this one either but does look in good condition will contact seller

#189 - not so keen as its an import
#198 - not keen on this one as it's been relisted multiple times. Strange how the ebay auction was ended last week but its back on again with the same seller.
#202 - was going to view this however looks like the cars been sitting for the past few years after speaking to the seller

#44 - shame I didn't see this earlier would of been very interested in this

Curious why you think #189 is an import as opposed to the other cars? They are all UK Spec RHD cars.

It's marked as "imported vehicle" on autotrader so just presumed it was imported.

Apologies might be incorrect....

It's just one of the foibles of ALPINA's, some seem to flag up as Imported while others don't. One suggestion was that it's the factory collected cars that have the import marker, but that's unsubstantiated.

Just to say that mine is still available also - I have an advert in the for sale section which I am just about to update.

I literally collected her last weekend after having all the jacking points/sills sorted out so have photo's and a large bill to show that critical piece of work has now been addressed properly.

She has a fresh MOT and is back on the road and available to view.

Cheers,

David.

Edit to say that my car IS on the register from 2007 with photo's as well - No. 1049 - but the correct colour of the car is Orient Blue Metallic....it would be fair to say she has aged VERY well!!

Hi Guys,

just wanted to say thanks for everyones input and a special thanks for your help CaesarBob for bringing it to our attention....have now bought #177.

Car has had a pampered life and comes with a huge folder full of history, biggest i've seen on a car anyway. Was in great condition and we couldn't pass.

Just missing the deco stripe kit to finish it off. Any advice on who does these?

Excellent news, glad you found a good 'un. #177 was very badly marketed, can't remember how I stumbled upon it now.

See you have also found the Dekor Stripe thread, Simon is reputedly the man to go to for authentic stripe kits. Don't be tempted by the eBay offereings, they are too fat and just look wrong compared to originals.

Don't forget to share some pics. 8)
