As its a post 9/87 built facelift car based on a 325i it wont be the original C2 2.5 which was based on a pre 9/85 built 323i.
It will be a "C2.5" which were usually badged as a C2 2.5 and is essentially a 325i with an Alpina cam, ECU and exhaust, the same engine spec as the Sytner "Alpina Sport pack" offered on any 325i.
Now you have confused me :think (doesn't take much I know :D )

I thought the 325i based ones were C1 2.5? C1 being original engine size (B23, B25) and C2 being oversize (B26, B27) I guess there would have been a good few jokers in the pack around the time of the early PFL 325i but I thought they were all C1 by the time of the facelift?

What badge did Sytner put on the Alpina 'pack' cars?

Might have to pop in one day soon for a chat about mine, been a couple of developments......
325i based C1 2.5 cars were LHD.

Facelift (post 9/87) 325i 2.5 Alpinas built and sold by Sytner were C2.5 (badged C2.5 or C2 2.5). There is a lot of confusion around these models but referral to brochures and price lists confirm what was what.

Sytner did the "ALPINA sport pack" which was cam, ECU and exhaust available for any 325i and not badged in any way. I actually owned a highly optioned dolphin grey 325i convertible in 2007 and that had the Alpina sport pack from new, sold by Sytner Nottingham.

Sytner also sold another package known as the "Alpina 3" which was a styling package of 16x7J wheels, front and rear spoilers, steering wheel, gear knob, key ring and ALPINA boot badge.

The post facelift C2.5 was essentially both of these packaged plus the Alpina Bilstein/Eibach suspension.

Aaah! that will be the cause of the confusion then :-D

The point I was trying to make was I don't think the OP will get a Typ 137 or 147 to fit on a facelift, which is where the 'official' documentation would lead him. I think he needs a 159 or 162.
