Pad light

Post by Henry » Tue Nov 21, 2023 9:42 pm

Since disconnecting the battery the brake pad light has been on. Pads have plenty of life, no broken wires and I have disconnected at the little black box the sensor joins to and sprayed with contact cleaner even though they look good. Followed various utube videos of ign position 2 wait one minute. No joy. Used 2 different diagnostic tools and no faults present. Plugged in a new sensor to both connectors without any success. Any tips or advice would be greatly appreciated.

I've had a few similar issues over the years with instrument cluster lights on E46's and normally a battery disconnection and reconnection for an hour or so would fix it. Definitely worth a try in my opinion.

The problem is solved, disconnected the plug on the front wheel at the black box stuck a paper clip in the two holes and light then went out. Re plugged the sensor in and it still worked. I have no idea why or how this solved the problem.
