Exhaust

Another question, I notice when under the car that one of the exhaust to manifold bolts is sheared off. The top of that bolt is a round head. Does it follow that I should be able to knock it out upwards without needing to undo the others and remove the exhaust. There is no sign or sound that it is leaking but the stud is broken and needs replaced.

If it were me then I would leave it be. The nut may have sheared off but if the remainder of the bolt is holding the clamp tight (no leakage/blowing) then it has probably rusted in place and is serving its purpose.

They are a nightmare to loosen if they haven't been touched for quite some time and you may well end up with several sheared nuts for your troubles!
