D3 suspension

Post by Simon32ol » Mon Sep 18, 2023 11:58 am

I have a D3 bi turbo (E90). It has bilstein B12 shocks and springs. I find the ride a little too harsh for the poor roads in the UK, and am looking for answers to solve this issue. Can I change the springs to standard, or do I need to change the whole set up, or as a compromise, change just the front springs. This is my first Alpina, although not my first BMW but without a side by side comparison, it is difficult to know what the standard ride is like.

Someone with more knowledge will be along shortly but I seem to believe that the springs/shocks for the E90 D3 models are BMW parts, not Alpina specific - something like M-Sport for one and SE for the other, but I am unsure about the exact combination.

If this is the case then it should be very straightforward to get your car back to what Alpina designed it to ride like
