Way back in April I noticed Brunhilds exhaust tips were shedding chrome. 9 Months later and now with salty roads the damage is very apparent having spread across all 4 pipes - (rear badges no better either).
Any owners of other recent models noticed similar affecting their car?
Could the tips simply be chopped off and new ones welded on? If so where to get tips?
Or instead, chopped, re-chromed and welded back on?
All the Alpina manual shows is the rear muffler complete and I can't imagine myself asking Sytner parts for a price!
Someone other than Alpina made it, Akrapovic don't list the G30/31 B5.

Re: Corroding Exhaust Tips
Hi John I think the latter option. If you can get it on a ramp and persuade the tips out then as we discussed some little outfit featured on wheeler dealer or drew Pritchard classic restoration to strip and re chrome them
I think any other tips will not look aesthetically correct

Re: Corroding Exhaust Tips
The standard BMW tail pipes are just pressed on and I changed them on my M240, from the stainless to carbon. Not sure if these are the same. Although pressed on they are a bugger to slacken off.
