B10 3.5 Interior Advice
Hi all,
I recently acquired a B10 that's definitely seen better days and is in need of LOTS of TLC to bring it back to it's former glory. For starters the interior is pretty bad after having sat for a decade or so in a tropical climate.... see pics.
I dont particularly like the colour combo but it's fairly unique. If this car was yours what would you do?
a) re-leather the whole interior in a colour you like
b) re-leather the whole interior in the original colours to keep originality
c) back away slowly
d) any better ideas???
Cheers, DT

Re: B10 3.5 Interior Advice
Looking at your pics my initial thoughts are that it's not original, I've never seen anything like that from the factory. It might be the pics but it doesn't look like the dash matches the seats at all.
Any more info about your B10 (VIN, build number, etc)? Is it a UK car originally?

VIN is WAPBA35011BB20518 and it's a Brunei car that's apparently ex-royal family / sultan of Brunei so I am guessing this was custom ordered in this funky configuration from new.... could be wrong though and so would love to confirm! Have requested a certificate from Alpina already.

Very interesting story probably right
Has it mph clocks and dash plaque
Any exterior shots of the car

Re: B10 3.5 Interior Advice
That certainly sounds like it might be an interesting story, and if it's true the interior could be original. If that's the case my vote would be to preserve/repair it.
B10 3.5/1 #518 isn't published on the Archive so I have asked what details they have for that car, will see if it corroborates any of the history you have. but a CoD from Buchloe is the best course as you're doing.
Keep us posted.

Did you manage to get confirmation on your B10 from Buchloe? The info on the Archive suggests it was originally a Sultan of Brunei car but as the interior was custom, there aren’t any specific details available.

Re: B10 3.5 Interior Advice
So I have received a copy of the original invoice from Alpina as below which states '0395 Leather Upholstery Ultramarin' but doesnt say anything about the two tone scheme. I dont yet have the other documents but they should be arriving soon so will see if that sheds any more light.
It seems to be fairly loaded with options:

Re: B10 3.5 Interior Advice
Very cool
It’s got a genuine alpina vin number which is unusual for an early RHD depends where it was built
There should be a dash plaque 0518
More pics exterior and also how did u come to know about this car was for sale
