E46 facelift front bumper offside bracket part number …had a mishap on a raised area argh

Post by hap » Thu Jun 24, 2021 4:35 pm

Caught offside front on block as reversed it snapped the brackets ffs small chunk and ripped bit of the splash guard
It’s secure but want it fixing found a piece snapped off but larger sectional piece could be stuck within trim
Body shop said unlikely plastic weld
Now I sssume be normal 330 as it the top bumper
Anyone assist with price parts number pls you will see the offending pipe it snagged onto. The rubber under the grill has been pulled out which is normally tucked in
Any other advice how to fix I’m concerned age of plastic removing putting back on is not going to do bracket much good. Very mad with myself
Cheers

Standard 330 part - use your 7 digit BMW windscreen VIN in realoem to get the part number

Thanks Charles I’ve just been watching some tutorial on YouTube and looked at realoem see below it’s this part that snapped with 2 prongs that slide into the bumper slits
I don’t think the bracket attach to the bumper from inside they slide onto body work and held in with 2 retaining plastic screw clip think I’ll do both sides
Does this look correct Charles i

Pls note you don’t need to remove the trim under the lights as some vids suggest
More money lol

What a nightmare hap. Glad it sounds like you can get sorted fairly easily though.

Sorry to hear about this Hap. At least no one was hurt and it seems a pretty simple fix with not too much cash outlay.

Sorry to hear this Hap, glad your getting her sorted. Your front bumper still looks better then mine! but this is great advice as will need to attend to mine soon, getting too many strange looks from Alpina lovers. :D

Glad it's fixed Hap - I manged to do something similar shortly after I bought mine but hadn't got round to sorting it out. I don't suppose you have any pics of the bumper off showing the bracket in place? If not, no worries.
