Alpina specialists?

Post by Pencraig » Wed Jun 16, 2021 5:46 pm

Hi,

Can anyone recommend an Alpina servicing specialist within say 50 miles of Hereford? - Birmingham, Bristol, Cardiff, Shrewsbury general areas?

Thanks

Rob

Hi Rob

My experience would say they are very rare and unlikely to be any specifically for Alpina. I’d just be looking for a very good BMW specialist, given 95% of servicing and issues will be exactly the same as the base cars, and if they are any good, they’ll likely be servicing Alpinas too.

Hope that helps?

Thanks rob

Think Paul is in a similar part of the world to you. This was his post from another thread about Independents:

You are spoilt for choice in that area. We need some of those guys to relocate a bit further north!

I've been looking around locally for a good specialist to look after my B5. Someone recommended a place called BM Automotive Solutions in Four Ashes near Wolverhampton, so I popped by to say hello. They had a B10 in the workshop and also looked after several other Alpinas. Chatting to the guys, they seemed to have a good understanding of the Alpina specific parts etc and I got a good feeling about them, so will be booking it in when the time comes.

I think the main thing is to go with a recommendation from someone you trust. I don't think you'll have any issues with any of the guys recommended here.

When I took my Roadster to Sytner Newport they clearly had no clue about Alpinas. Despite being given both VINs they had the wrong bits for my car so I had to bring it back a couple of weeks later (140 mile round trip). As I left the dealership the roof failed…
