Leather treatments

Post by woolley11 » Sat Apr 10, 2021 12:09 pm

Probably been done to death on here in the past so is there a link to a thread or can someone give me heads up how best to deal with the leather on the drivers seat on my B10 Touring? It’s cracked and worn.

I cleaned up the rest of the seats with the Pears soap trick and they came up really well.

My guess is that it’s never been touched in 19.5 years.

1st pic is passenger seat cleaned with Pears and 2nd pic drivers seat cleaned with Pears but obviously showing usual wear.

Your right there has been a number of threads.

I have successfully used saddle soap (it’s glycerin based like pears) to clean and autoglym to condition. I applied fortnightly to the e30 seats as they were very badly dry and cracked. Massage in by hand and wire excess off with microfibre.

Ended up with this soft leather but with nice patina.

Need to do likewise with M3 but need to replace collapsing bolster first. I just hope they turn out as good as yours as a starting point after cleaning.
