Re: E93 B3S buying advice please
Indeed numbers are small, but as the S version still uses the N54 engine, they are prone to these break downs also.
I know of 1 B3 S here in Holland where both turbos had to be replaced at 60K miles, after going through the misfires, the rough idle, the engine going into limp mode.. Magic when it works, frustrating to keep on having problems..

Re: E93 B3S buying advice please
N54's in my sphere always have been relatively trouble free when maintained correctly. I do know of LCI cars having had issues and iirc lowest mileage turbo wastegate rattle failure was at 22k miles. I'm also aware of LCI cars with >100k under their shoes never having turbo related issues. HPFP failures on LCI cars are far rarer, but tended to happen early in cars' lifetimes so may be old style fitted in early cars for instance. Non S cars all seem to have had turbo history at some stage.
Facelifted E9x cars were all substantially better built and engineeringly superior than earlier versions. However, as with all things, rogue versions do exist. It's the standard bathtub failure curves they all follow, and Alpina cannot be an exception

I've had #241 since Aug 19, I love the way it ticks so many boxes. I wanted something to replace a Griff500 and a 645ci and think the B3s has some of the best traits from both cars. Great to have 4 seats, an open top which closes quickly, speed, reliability and refinement too. I haven't had any issues other than having to replace ABS sensors. I put on new Michelin PS4S tyres at the rear and enjoy trouble free motoring.....I hope you do too.
