Does anybody know which spark plugs are required for my 2003 B3S and the best place for buying them?. I thought maybe the same spec as used in the M3 as both being performance engines.
Thanks

Spark Plugs B3S question
I would have thought the plugs would be the same as an e46 330. But unless anyone else on here knows I would advise speaking to your local BMW main dealer.

I'm afraid I haven't got a clue - I just pay the dealer to do the service
Seriously though, I have just had an Inspection 2 on my 2003 B3S and the invoice states the following:
B12.12.9.071.003 /// T/u plug (m45-3) /// 6 @ 6.60 /// £37.62 + vat (£44.20)
Hope this helps

How much did they charge you for fitting them though Charles.
My CLK320 was serviced last week and they suggested that I had new plugs fitted at a cost of just under £300. I'm not mechanically minded but when I asked why a ten minute job was so expensive the answer was that they weren't as accessible as they were years ago.
Needless to say as my car will be going shortly I declined their kind offer.

Changing the plugs is a specific part of the Inspection 2.Ian J wrote:How much did they charge you for fitting them though Charles.
The whole Inspection 2 cost £291.77 (exc vat) with a labour element of £138.60 (exc vat).
Sorry, but I can't break it down any better than that.
In the circumstances, I don't feel that this is an unreasonable price to pay for a full service and body inspection. Do you?
BTW, for those of you with calculators, I forgot to mention that I got a 5% discount on parts as part of the 4 Plus programme (4 years old or more) as well as a sympathetic labour rate for the same reasons.

Hi,
As D4 says, give your dealer a ring. The other option is to take the top cover off, remove a coil pack and remove a spark plug. That way you will know for sure that you get the right one.
They will probably be NGK BKR6EQUP plug's. These are found in the 330 and I had them in my 2000 B3. You can get them from any motor factors and through BMW. The M54 engine in your B3s should be on the same as the 330ci on which it was based.
I would check before just buying anything though as some parts places dont want to take the goods back. This is to stop people just ordering stuff that only has to be sent back.
