Which oil?
Which oil?
Hi, ive just picked up my 2010 bmw alpine D3. Ive had a search and their seems to be lots of opinions on which engine oil to use. Its just had a service last week, and has been filled with Mobil 1 ESP 0W/30 oil. Is this correct oil and will I continue to use oil when servicing car myself? Also where is the best place to buy service parts for my car, ie. oil filter, air filter, or even brake pads etc. Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks, Ian.
Ian,
I believe it does. I used to buy oil and get bmw to change it and have at least 3 one litter bottles half full in the garage.
There are 3 different types of oil service with more filters being changed every time. After you are done with the third, you go back to the first one

Out of interest what does it state in your service manual for the D3??
Mine is an 08 D3 Bi Turbo and i thought it took 0W30 but looking in the hand book it states 10W60. (So that is what I will use)
Regards
Kev
