D4 F32 Brake pad part number

Post by Collectingbrass » Thu Nov 17, 2022 11:17 pm

Does anyone know the full part number for the front axle brake pads for a 2015 D4? The parts catalogue seems to be about 4 or 5 digits short.

The 7-digit part numbers are the unique ALPINA parts, the 11-digits ones are from the BMW Parts Bin. So those are BMW-only unless someone has figured out a suitable alternative from some other source.

Ah OK, thanks Bob. I was expecting them to be the full set of numbers to fit in the BMW parts numbering nomenclature but that makes sense now.

Does Santa make Alpina brake pads?

Just to update on this so people have an idea on current lead times, the OEM pads were ordered by my indie on 19 November, they arrived last week and were fitted today. Annoyingly I didn't really expect this to be this long so probably have a red overdue indicator on the service record; I'd say book it in when you're 8 - 10 weeks from it going into "service due soon" territory

I’m sure the pads will be made by a regular and recognised brake company, Alpina won’t make the pads but commission them, e.g. Brembo perhaps, and there will be an exact replacement by that company, just not Alpina badged.

Same will all service parts. Some will be updated and become unavailable/superseded but there should be a later version that will be ‘nearest’ equivalent by the same company.

I'm sure you're not wrong but as this indie could have had £1k out of me on another car (what he'd quoted another gargae to fix what they told him the problem was) but only charged me the £120 it actually cost, I'll take his word for it in this instance. Your mileage may vary of course, that's the joy of the internet :-)

I agree, I paid slightly over in labour than ‘normal’ to have Sachs equivalent (BMW and Alpina OEM) rear dampers fitted on the day of MOT, but rather than the same much higher priced BMW stamped items fitted later. Just so I could drive away.
