Buying parts from Germany

Post by TonyS » Mon Jun 26, 2023 11:55 pm

Whilst trying to keep my car in original condition, I see that FMW in Germany show online stock of quite a few original new Alpina parts.
https://www.fmw-tuning.de/bmw/3er-e90-e ... ina-teile/

So, has anyone on here dealt with importing parts from this company ? ... was it a good experience ?
and ... I note that when trying to order on their web page it will automatically add 21% VAT .. is that correct ?
I would expect VAT to be payable on import in UK only, not Germany as well.

X1 2.0 Twin-Scroll Turbo xDrive #zillion (F48) ... really useful, if only an XB1 existed !

--- but when you are up to your ears in alligators it can be relatively difficult to remember that your original idea was to drain the swamp --- hmmm

I think there was a post on the forum a while back where someone bought parts from fmw tuning post Brexit and did pay VAT twice.
