Pay particular attention to the mid mounts just downstream of the cats as, if these fail, the pipes drop onto the rear cross member.

Update 23.12.20

It transpires that the noise is one of the shocks from the coil over setup giving up the ghost. An ideal excuse to replace the suspension with some proper stuff. I have ordered a set of Alpina OE from Alloy Wheels Driect and looking forward to getting this fitted. Price was fair i think at around £1200.

In the meantime I took the car to BMR in late Nov to have it inspected prior to 'throwing' money at her. Barry and Ross gave her a clean bill of health with only consumables being the areas of concern. I have decided that I will ask BMR to install the suspension as they are proffessional and clearly know thier way around the oily bits of an Alpina.

Lastly, today I collected my car from the paint shop today. The rear spoiler had suffered reaction to paint and the front bumper is prone to collecting stonechips - especially around the Nurbergring!

How it looked:

Thanks Hap - I will investigate ppf.

I have just realised that I didnt post an update after my visit to BMR.

A minor update. The car suspension has decided to make some noise. On investigation, one of the coil over shocks has had it.

I knew the car was in good company as soon as I arrived:

and this oddball

Loads of work needed - approx cost to get back to good shape? £85k GULP!!

My car getting the once over

The report - all clear, bar a few items that need to be looked at. Nothing serious - just wear and tear items and a few common rot spots that need to be waxoyled. The specialists at BMR were impressed at the cars history and the long list of extras. They made me very happy when they told me that it is worth around £10k - £12k!!

I was so happy. But then let down as when Ross went to move the car and wind up the electric windows, a regulator blew!!

I spent a couple of hours yesterday replacing the regulator and will now need a new vapour membrane.

Nice update Rav - good to see you car is in fine health. Definitely a good shout going for the OE Alpina suspension too.

Some cracking cars at BMR - that B9 is an absolute beauty. I just wish these guys were a bit closer to me.

It has been a long wait to get the OE suspension from Buchloe. Tony and the team at Alloy Wheels Direct did what they could, but the Brexit nonsense had my parts waiting in Germany for over a week. Who voted for Brexit anyways?

£1200 spent on Shocks and Springs for my B3 3.3.

Finally, today a ring on the door bell and:

Will call up BMR performance to ask Barry and Ross to fit these and get a couple of other parts done on the car.

Good plan, do you think you’ve got enough for both sides or will you need to order a few more parts? :dance

I dropped my car off at BMR performance today for the suspension to be fitted and a few other tidy up jobs. I was sad to swap to my wifes audi for the homeward journey, but clearly my car is in good company.

Lots of lovely old (and new) cars there. I noted this old girl in the car park too. Anyone on here?

Recognise the coupe - think it was on the market recently having had a repaint and was priced strong. Recall the decals were highlighted as letting it down a bit (after all the efforts of a repaint).

Bob will put us straight on details

Very similar cars Asim, but I think this is a different one:
- #040 is still for sale in Deeside apparently https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/154102131788
- this one has M3 mirrors, #040 doesn't
- this one appears to have a pale (grey?) interior, #040 has Black Montana
- I don't think this one looks like ALPINA Blue, could be Avus (which would make it #229, but 've never seen it and Archive has no image either)
