Engine was freshly rebuilt 1k miles before I got it
Bespoke manifolds and exhaust made for it to clear the steering and make it all fit in the E30 shell
Tappets etc were all done. Chap that built the engine had a dyno print at 334 bhp and 280 lb ft How accurate that is I'm not sure.
Brake wise is stock at the moment.
I was going to go 5 stud as had front struts and hubs from my old E36 M3 Evo but that would mean running 17" wheels to clear the brakes which would be too big for an E30. People run it but handles terribly.
Sticking with the Alpina 16" wheels but may try and source a set of 4 pot VW Corrado G60 calipers as apparently is an easy modification to get them to fit

Lovely. Agree with you on 16" wheels - stick with, they're perfect.

None of the Corrado range had 4 pots. If you need a bigger disc and pad then the G60 option might be enough (280mm discs but not 4 pot), but I think you're better off trying for some Porsche Boxster Brembos - you should be able to find a set up that works with the 16s.

Well I've been busy enjoying the car and spending a bit of time assembling all the bits and bobs I need to creat my "evocation" as that seems to be the choice word nowadays of a car Alpina didn't build an E30 B6 Touring.
Think I have everything in place now so it is going to go for a full respray in Daytona violet in March.

Genuine 5 x staggered 16" Alpina alloys with new tyres, locks and keys
Alpina steering wheel
Alpina Gear nob
Alpina stripe kit in green
Alpina front splitter
Genuine more door tech II kit
Genuine Tech II touring rear spoiler
New genuine E30 BMW front wings and rear arches
Second hand tailgate with no rust
Used but VGC bonnet
Full black leather touring interior with sport seats

Sounds like a cracking project Ali - have really fond memories of my 2 E30 tourings back in the day; sadly neither was a 6-pot.

Just curious...do you still have both of the E30 Tourings? I'm guessing the "evocation" is the red one...?

The red one was a slushmatic so it got the heave a while ago, everything is going on the silver one which has the S38 in it

Looks like it’s all coming together nicely, are you still planning Daytona Violet?

Still top of the leaderboard but something in the back of my mind tells me it is an ///M colour as I recall several E35 M5s that colour

Still also tempted to keep it lachsilber too

My paint shop is 4 months behind so the good news is I got a fresh mot 2 weeks ago and still get to use it all summer
Paintshop in the autumn
I also sourced a replacement tailgait for it too as mine is starting to go crusty in places
Both rear arches getting replaced as is front lower valance behind bumper to try and future proof
Hope fully be worth it in the end

A year later on and the bodyshop supposed to do the work are still fobbing me off re getting booked in.
Anybody know of a decent trustworthy body shop that can do a bit of welding and a decent full respray?
I'd rather pay more and get it done right than deal with a quick turnaround
Any suggestions North of the border pelase?
