Anyone have any “interesting” petrol BMW tourings for sale?

Post by ttrill » Sat Jan 16, 2021 8:11 pm

Abit of a long a long shot but does anybody on here/know of anyone selling a Petrol touring with a 3.0 & above? Currently the 320D gets little use so a diesel isn’t the right car for what we’ve got it for and might as well make the limited journeys that we are allowed to do fun  . Max budget 14K and mileage preferably under 80K. Age not an issue. Ideally E91 330/335i or E61 530i and above (including 550i’s). Jap import cars welcome with good history. And of course, Alpina’s because we have gluts of tourings over here :(

Got two cars on the shortlist so if anybody can add to that list it would be welcomed.

If anybody is interested in the 320D it’s an F31 LCI @48100. Undercover police spec, Sport (non-M), white, 17”, privacy glass. Car has lots of options, If you want more info I will pm you a the PH ad for it.

My old manual F11 535i would have fit the bill. A real unicorn - it was an amazing car. Even with the B5, a part of me misses it. It was very different in character.

Good luck with the search - I’ll keep an eye out.

Thanks Paul, much appreciated. I forgot to mention, must be an auto! It’s my mum driving it and she doesn’t get on with manuals unfortunately :boohoo

Assuming you have seen this 550i on Autotrader?

https://www.autotrader.co.uk/car-detail ... 2167146868

It’s been for sale a little while now but rare to see one with this low mileage.

Yes :) it’s probably No1 on the list at the moment. Looks like it’s been loved and the service intervals show however had it definitely knew how to look after a car. Would be nice to have a V8 again after our Volvo.

Have you seen this Toby?

https://www.pistonheads.com/buy/listing/11171431

It has been featured by Pistonheads this morning:

I actually prefer E60s in SE form - this looks superb to me and a great spec too.

Good I thing I was sitting down when I ran my search last night that’s for sure! Went to go see the car this afternoon. It’s lovely, a true alpina that has been well looked after. Unfortunately no test drives due to COVID however we did have a good look around the car, the only thing that I spotted was the spare wheel well had a healthy sized rust hole in it so that would be rectified before sale. The dealer didn’t know it was there and is a genuine guy. We walked away without leaving a deposit based on PX values being abit low and couldn’t come to a deal there and then. If it goes to somebody else before we can come to a deal I won’t be surprised as it is a lovely car.

Thanks guys, it was a hard decision but we’ve decided against this one, there is too much risk with an E39 in regards to rust and daily use- I suspect there may be more lurking within this one.

Do you guys really think that B10 will be around for a while? Considering how rare they are I would’ve thought it would get snapped up asap
