Looking to get one but should I be looking for a Quartz or automatic?
Have considered omega seamaster also
Thanks

I have a Breitling superocean chrono, it was a present for my 40th, lovely heavy watch. I would always get an automatic as it is more special than a quartz.
It depends on your budget, automatic will cost a lot more than a quartz movement watch.
I like the Omega watches too but I have 3 now (tissot touch expert, Breitling Superocean and an Alpina special edition) so cant really justify another....yet.

Thanks Phil super Ocean II is one I am looking at already so similar taste in style but the one without the chrono so just the normal dial
I also like the colt chronograph but that's a quartz in my budget but have tried that and looks nice and weight was right for me but then it looks quite busy

I think it’s every 2 years but I wouldn’t be too strict with that regiment if it’s not a daily. I paid £500 last time but that was to replace a broken crown too. It does come back like new though all polished back to a high shine.

Would you consider buying pre owned? Not sure if it’s of interest but I have a 42mm steel on steel Omega Planet Ocean c/w box, papers, etc that may be up for sale soon. The model number is 232.30.42.21.01.001 and if I remember correctly it was purchased in late 2014 with me being the only owner. Not sure where I will pitch it price wise but it will be less than £3k for sure.

This is the one I have tried on and keep getting drawn to it
Like the style and visually the dial but is Quartz I could get a normal colt plain face auto for slightly less or slightly more the auto super ocean II

That is my quandary

Service for a chronograph and self-winder should be about £800 (as per the Breitling UK website).

Phil is yours highly polished strap ? And how does it bear up to scratches? I presume when u av it serviced they Polish it back up ?
I like the high polish bracelet but do think its bit blingy but having said that I guess that's a reason why its special

The strap is fairly good at keeping scratch free really. I don’t wear if i’m doing something that might scratch it though. When it went came back from being serviced it was like a new watch again.
I have the Tissot with a Matt titanium strap for everyday use and that does scratch easily.
My Alpina has a black leather strap and is more monochrome in appearance which i use as a more conservative dress watch.
