Re: e46 b3s Suspension Refresh...

The numbers for the dampers are correct. The springs are dependent front and rear on your specific car. You need to give the VIN to the seller and Alpina will get you the right version. I would do a complete refresh and put all new parts on the car, spring perches, strut mounts. In the rear I would ...

Re: VIN decoders

Another option with the only disadvantage that you don’t get all options in a nice overview: https://www.leebmann24.de/bmw-ersatzteile/ Fill out complete VIN in “Fahrgestellnummer”, hit Suchen, select a Category, select a Diagram, on the next page you will find an overview of all the options of the ...

Re: Any idea what this pipe is?

That’s indeed a fuel line. The plastic bit is meant to be lose. When you compress it, ie push it towards the metal part, you can release the fuel line. They are push on fuel lines.

Re: B3s Touring no. 104 6 sp Manual conversion completed 12/3/18

Hi, Can I ask whether you removed the Pierburg vacuum pump and associated hardware? I'm doing this conversion at the moment and have removed this, hope it doesn't give me a check engine light.. Also, did you convert from the automatic steering column to the manual version? I did this also and it's r...

Re: E46 facelift rear bumper with PDC

When not ordered a new one already: I would pick one up from breakers or eBay in same color and respray it. Make sure it has the PDC cutouts, it's very hard to put those factory original in a non-PDC bumper. Get a piece of carton and copy the cutout for the exhaust on the Alpina bumper and transfer ...

Re: E46 instrument cluster

Never saw this earlier.. I have to admit that I still need to investigate where the differences are. I assume that you can set up a regular cluster by changing the values for certain parameters.. In the NCS Expert files for kombi on an E39 it literally says 'Alpina cluster Y/N'. Haven't found anythi...

Re: E46 facelift rear bumper with PDC

Exhaust cutout is the only difference. I put a standard bumper on my B3 S and that was the only thing I needed to change..

Re: Lockdown project ...

The B3 S uses an Alpina specific oil pump, which is also in the parts catalog, part number 11 41 101. It might be very well the case that only the spring is different..

"which is one of nine E46 B3 Tourings produced worldwide. I believe there were six in right hand drive. This car is build number 113"

I've read this 6 times now and it still doesn't make sense..

Number 113 out of 9 produced B3 tourings and 6 RHD?

Just wow.. :D

Yeah, I searched high and low for a solution, but nothing to be found on how to troubleshoot the cluster itself. Came across the bad ground posting also, but as my other Alpina cluster is working in the car that seems not to be the problem. Mine's a 99 with the Motometer cluster, indeed an earlier c...

Re: E46 instrument cluster

Looking for an E46 B3 instrument cluster, I have had 2 die on me already and the part is NLA at Alpina.. What have you been doing with them? This is the first time I've heard of any such failure with an E46 instrument cluster, so your comment got me interested. Do tell .... Nothing much.. F...
