Hi Mark, I think it is run at the minimum just so that it is easier to keep track of the oil usage. It was what I was told when I bought her. I used to keep it on the minimum mark, reset the mileage counter. Then when the Orange oil light came on after switching of I would top up with 1ltr and then ...

Hi Neal, I havent had chance to do much as yet. It is totally stripped ready for a lot of work. The shell is on wheels in the garage and I have put a new front end on it, right from the bulk head forward. New inner wings, chassis rails, wings, slam pannel and front pannel. Funny you should ask as I ...

Charles it is part of this letter a few posts down. http://thealpinaregister.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=62&start=0 . I think the main reasons for keeping the oil level on the minimum marks is that it may be easier to keep track of the oil consumption. We know that these engines use a little anyway. ...

Hi Mark, Glad you found the forum in the end. How is she doing? I hope you are looking after her. It was such a nice weekend this weekend I couldnt help but think that I would have been hard at it, detailing. Not on my new car but would have on the B3. So I take it you managed to get the Sat nav all...

Hi, As D4 says, give your dealer a ring. The other option is to take the top cover off, remove a coil pack and remove a spark plug. That way you will know for sure that you get the right one. They will probably be NGK BKR6EQUP plug's. These are found in the 330 and I had them in my 2000 B3. You can ...

Hi All, Unfortunatley I have now sold the B3 to a Guy called Mark from Ireland. I have pointed him towards the alpina register and was hoping that he may have posted on here?? It doesnt look like he may be into the forum thing but he is very keen with the car and I have kept in touch with him. I am ...

The reason why Xenons arent used for flash is that you would totally blind any oncoming road user. The reasons that you ony have lower K bulbs in foglights is exactly the same thing. Just that you will be illuminating the fog infront of you and would not be able to see well at all. Low K bulbs are g...

I think that there are many miss conceptions about sealed for life oils these days. In a manual box things are relatively straight forward. You drain the oil. You fill it back upto the required level and your good to go. It really is that simple. On an auto box of ANY kind it is a whole different ba...

Believe me I considered every eventuality before I sold her. A saloon is a no go for me; I needed an estate that I can put rather large things in. The other criteria was that it had to be a diesel. If they had made a D3 touring on the E46 I would have snapped one up but unfortunately the E90 D3 is a...

Looks like you have been scratching your wheels with something there Charles? Not where the bubble is but between the spokes towards the inside? Do you use a brush to clean them? The bubbling is inherent with ANY alloy wheel in this country. Whether they are lacquered or painted you get tiny pin hol...

Worrying thing is that it will be like picking the best out of a bad bunch in the next election. I dont think that there are any candidates that have the policies to do something about the spiraling problems in this country.

Probably better to move abroad??

Yeah I think the outcome is satisfactory. As for a replacement for the B3 I have had to buy a 2003 Vauxhall signum 3.0ltr V6 diesel. It will be used and abused as the family taxi as well as ferrying stuff back and forth to my house as I do it up. The B3 was far too good a car for that. It was also d...

Just a quick update on things. Firstly the guy from Ireland has now bought my car and driven her away  very mixed feelings. The guy who came with him said that it is only a car, WRONG!!! It’s an ALPINA and you don’t see them very often where I live. Anyway he drove her over to Ireland and ...

I certainly won’t be buying the PS3. I have bought the Sony products in the past. The Ps1 & the PS2. Unfortunately I think that Sony has taken far too long to bring out the PS3. Microsoft has been able to use that to sell so many Xbox 360's & produce lots of quality games for it. As for the qualit...
