My handbook specifies BMW Style 416. They won't be buckled as I can't find any secondhand online (not confident about eBay so haven't checked there) and I can't find them new on BMW's web site. Maybe they're discontinued? They are shown as an offset of 34 - does that mean any BMW wheel with that off...

Thanks Charles. It's not the BMW badges that bothers me but how close to the callipers an 18" wheel would be! The handbook can't be wrong but it will be very, very close.

Its not the disc clearance you need to look at, its the caliper clearance to the wheel that matters. Doh! Of course. And that's quite tight - I can only get a thin brush in there when cleaning. From the supplemental handbook (OK, I should have looked there first!) it says 225/45 R18 on 8" ri...

Thanks Charles. I hadn't thought of looking for the offset in the handbook and despite having checked pressures for existing tyres on the door pillar, it didn't register that the winters are there too! In my defence I only had my e92 for eight years so I'm still learning

Wheels (Brakes?) & Winter Tyres Question

I'm looking to buy some winter wheels/tyres for my D4 BiTurbo (F32). Are the brakes the standard ones off the 430d? If so, BMW wheels for that car would fit. I have 20" wheels at present but looking at the space between the current wheels and the discs, it looks as if 18" would fit - would they? On ...

Glad they've gone to a good home. Now if only I can find some in the same condition for the same price for my F32

Thanks for the input. I believe most thefts involve burglary to get the keys. If that's the case, if we're not at home then an immobiliser would be a good idea but if we are then I'm too old to fight two or more car thieves  - I'd give in and let them go but would like the police to deal with ...

Which Tracker?

Thinking it would be a good idea to fit one to my D4 Bi-Turbo. Any recommendations? Are those that boast Cat5 the current state of the art?

I'd already notice the info about Thruxton. I'm likely to go although the car won't get warm on the journey as I'm about 3 miles from the circuit!

My first meet - as has been said, nice to put some names to forum identities. Thanks for the effort guys; I felt quite guilty only having to travel for 20mins to get there.

Aren't B12s big!

Not being able to find that 3M part number for sale in UK, in the end I went to my local independent body shop, and, looking hopeful, asked what they used. They produced a large reel of 50mm wide black tape and asked how much I needed  I left with about 3" and after about an hour of cleaning an...

Thanks - an online search didn't throw up any of those! At least, not for that 3M part number - lots of other 3M tapes though.

Thanks for that. Any idea where I can get some in UK? The price on that Amazon link is a reasonable £15.29. However, the postage is £43.54 - it's in California!
