Re: F31 B3 at Sytner Chigwell
Sytner have a habit of doing this and it’s pretty frustrating! Colour is such a tricky one, personally I’m not a fan of lighter flatter greys and whites on newer Alpina models, but each to their own. I said I didn’t want black or white when I was looking for my F31 but ended up with black as the res...

Agreed, looks so much better with no tints.
Very close to my perfect spec, green, with what appears to be brown/tan interior and no tints!

Re: Comfort options - suggestion/advice please :)
The answer is of course an Alpina….. However, if you are considering an L405/L494, personally I would want to run one under warranty if at all possible. The Land Rover extended warranty is worth having, but it works slightly differently to the extended BMW warranty. With LR you can’t buy a warranty ...

Re: Has The Time Finally Come
I’m just going through the process of getting quotes for the parts to refresh the suspension on my E46 B3S, I’ll let you know how I get on. The cheapest option so far has been to purchase the parts as a kit (4x springs and dampers) from my local dealer. I used the Alpina part no 31 00 134. The corre...

Re: What did you do in your ALPINA today?
Sold it! Came a little out of the blue, but happy that the car has gone to a good home and will continue to be cherished and enjoyed. Onwards! Congrats, it was a really clean example, if it was like mine, hopefully you also suffered minimal depreciation, which is pretty unusual for older diesel est...

Re: Her indoors has damaged my Alpina - Advice needed.
Difficult one, I had a very similar incident a few years ago, very low speed in a car park with another car in a complete blind spot whilst manoeuvring, however the damage wasn’t quite as bad a yours. Mine was light very cosmetic, but there was a 1 inch scratch on the edge of headlight and marks to ...

Re: Collecting Cars Event - Silverstone 4th Feb
Thanks for the interest, yes I understand it was ordered new by Sytner as their demonstrator and went straight to Chris Harris on long term loan when he was at Autocar. I’m not sure who the second owner was, but I understand they put approx 60k miles on it during the first 3 years, before Hodge purc...

Re: Alpina’s for sale
Recently I've been thinking about selling my F31, but the biggest issues are the ridiculous cost to change and the fact the the D3 is almost the perfect all rounder. Difficult to justify the 'upgrade'. Hi Matt, I think we were initially looking for an F31 around the same time in 2019. I sold mine e...

I am a big fan of this too, my favourite colour combo as well, but sadly not at £42k.

I love the interior on this, can’t help but think it would look better with silver wheels?
A green G21 B3 also popped up recently with Hairpin Motor Co.

Re: Parts availability
No problem at all, I was originally quoted £352 plus VAT for the head gasket and £57 plus VAT for the inlet manifold gasket. However they ended up being combined on the final invoice and were £574 plus VAT combined. I expect the HG ended up being closer to £500 plus VAT on its own. It’s a bit painfu...
